Vietnam- Cambodia Mission Team - Update #4

Dear family, prayer supporters, and friends,

Over the past three days we held our first ever Preh Vihear English Bible Camp at the ALWM Mission School! We had 70+ students grade 4-8 in three classes, including 23 Muslim students from this predominantly Muslim community in northern Cambodia. This also the headquarters of ALWM Cambodia, a registered NGO here.

There are a lot of pictures here that scratch the surface a little! Also visit the ALWM Facebook page for some videos.

Alan “nailed it” when he said this was the Beta version of what Sally and I have done with thousands of students over the past 21 years attend English Bible camps in 7 different countries! We had stressed in training that this was a new day in a new place, so we would take it a day at a time.

Sally and I were blessed each day as Bella, Katherine, and Alan all joyfully embraced the “Beta” challenge: offering this to Pastor Sam and ALWM Cambodia as a new ministry tool alongside their English school and Bible teaching, but with lots of unknowns :). This team was always positive, ready to adapt and adjust day by day, shining the light of Jesus for these kids who were loving every minute of the Bible lessons, English conversation, music, crafts, games, plus lunch and dinner!

Thanks for your prayers over these days! Please also pray for continued watering of the seeds that were planted!

Pastor Sam and his team were thrilled with the camp, and would love to host the full five day version in 2026! Some challenges there as in Cambodia the “summer” school break is the month of September into early October. Lots to pray about when even considering a September mission team.

We leave Preh Vihear Sunday after church and head south. More on that in the final prayer letter on Monday, as we all head for home starting late that day!

Writing on behalf of the team,

Yours in Christ,

Bill
